ELCOM SYSTEMS is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. This Privacy Statement explains how we use the information we collect about you and the procedures that we have in place to safeguard your private data and privacy whilst you use our services.

This policy is an extension of our core website policy to cover our Web applications and Android Apps.

We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)). ELCOM SYSTEMS is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience.

This policy applies to all ELCOM SYSTEMS websites, web applications, Android apps and governs data collection and usage. By using any ELCOM SYSTEMS website or app, you consent to the data use and processes we outline in this statement.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure customer information is treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulations.

Scope

The scope of this policy extends to all ELCOM SYSTEMS Staff, temporary employees and contractors, and any agents of ELCOM SYSTEMS.

Non-compliance with this policy could have a significant effect on the efficient operation of ELCOM SYSTEMS and may result in financial loss and an inability to provide necessary services to our customers.

Collection of Personal Details

ELCOM SYSTEMS collects personally identifiable information, such as your name, e-mail address, home or work address and telephone number(s). ELCOM SYSTEMS also collects anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your postcode, occupation and some preferences.

We may also collect information about your computer hardware and the software automatically. This information may include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used by ELCOM SYSTEMS for the operation of their web services, to maintain quality of those services, and to provide general statistics regarding use of ELCOM SYSTEMS websites, web applications and Android apps.

Should you choose to link to other websites from ELCOM SYSTEMS we encourage you to review the privacy statements of those websites. You should understand how those websites collect, use and share personal information. ELCOM SYSTEMS can accept no responsibility for the use of data, personal information or other content on websites outside of the ELCOM SYSTEMS proprietary websites.

Collection of your location details (Android apps)

The ELCOM SYSTEMS Android app – UNIQUS GO tracks your current location while using the app and while the app is running in the background. This is only collected when you are logged into the application. Data collected may be used by members of your current organisation in relation to your daily work schedule. This data may be stored and will be shared inside your organisation only.  It will not be shared outside your organisation.

The UNIQUS GO app is a logistics application to deliver and collect packages.  While the driver is on the road, the location is constantly monitored so that the head office of the organisation knows where their drivers are at any given point and can display the days movement inside our core software.
An example of why this is needed is if there is an emergency job that needs to be scheduled in immediately, they could find the closest technician and push an emergency job to their phone.

Collection of your device id (Android apps)

ELCOM SYSTEMS uses a licence key to identify your device.  This is only collected when you attempt to register the Android app and while you are logged in using the Android apps. Data collected is used to uniquely identify your device for authentication purposes with the ELCOM SYSTEMS Web Service. This is required every time you use these Android apps and cannot be disabled.

Use of your Personal Information

ELCOM SYSTEMS collects and uses your personal information to operate ELCOM SYSTEMS websites and deliver the services you have requested. ELCOM SYSTEMS also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from us. ELCOM SYSTEMS may contact you to conduct research about your opinion of our services or of potential new products or services that may be developed.

ELCOM SYSTEMS does not use or disclose sensitive personal information. ELCOM SYSTEMS keeps track of the ELCOM SYSTEMS websites and pages our customers visit. This data is used to deliver more appropriate content and information.

ELCOM SYSTEMS does not sell, rent, loan or lease its customer lists to third parties. ELCOM SYSTEMS may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party. ELCOM SYSTEMS websites, web applications and Android apps will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on ELCOM SYSTEMS or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of ELCOM SYSTEMS; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of ELCOM SYSTEMS, or the public.
